Career of Evil

October the first. I like it so far. Unfortunately, our guest speaker was caught in the storm and arrived in Washington 5 am this morning so it was time for theories again. After this it was a 4 hour lunch when I thought abut studying for the midterm exam. So I began print out all the reading. Took more then an hour. People had even time to go and then come back before I was finished. Then I thought I could have a quick lunch but entered a debate about McCain and Obama. Took another one and a half hour and then all around the table decided to go to Starbucks for coffee and I followed the rest. After this it was 1 hour left to do something except studying.

Next speaker was first someone speaking about health and security. Became a lengthy discussion about protection against diseases that could be natural or used as biological weapons of mass destruction. Very interesting. After this came an commander from the US navy who briefed us about the pandemic simulation we are having tomorrow. He also assigned us different roles and I became Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs in the Department of State. Gonna be so fun.

Went to dinner in waiting for the WASSA meeting. And now something really embarrassing happened. I thought I saw someone I knew so I just sat down and said how are you and that person just looked at me like "what the hell?" and when I realized my mistake the meting was just about to start so I said excuse me and dissapered in to the meeting room whole face turning red. Not fun (well, kinda is but you get my point). The meeting was as it usealy are. Could really need some germanic effectivness studies. Just sat there and wrote down a simple line to highklight how I felt:

"SVIK är fan så effektivare"

Thats how I felt that time. Kinda tired though, but anyway. Speaking of German, they are planning something called the Oktober fest (absolutly not the German one, I can promise that) and they decided to spell it with a k German style and then one of them looked at me. So once again I had to say that I'm Swedish. Theres a hugh difference.

Yes, and this is for my sisters that still haven't understood that I'm working at Citizens for Global Solutions on Monday and Tuesdays and thats what I have written about during these two days in a two week time.
